Launch of new Ladies 7 A side league a success
The new ladies season kicked off on Friday the 3rd March with all six teams playing in three very competitive games.
Nurney ran out winners against St Pats in the first game which was very tight and only a last minute goal decided the game. Hanover and Crettyard with the more experience saw off the two ballymurphy sides in two more very close encounters.

Hanover Harps crowned JF Sports Youths Division 2 champions
Hanover claim title in Nurney

Nurney Villa 1 Hanover Harps 9

Hanover traveled to Nurney on Saturday afternoon knowing anything other than defeat and they would be crowned champions. They didn"t let the occassion get to them and settled well. Ben Deacon latched onto a long clearance and with composure gave Hanover an early lead. Ten minutes later Alex Clifford doubled the lead from distance and the away side were in control of things now. Mathew Callinan, Harry Brown and top scorer Scott Dunne all added to the score before the break for a comfortable lead. Nurney had an excellent start to the second half and reduced the arrears after a goalmouth scramble fell kindly for Eamon Lalor. Shortly after a long range effort was parried by the Nurney keeper but the alert Callum Carlin was on hand to tuck it away. Carlin was on hand again shortly after when he picked the ball up just outside the box and found the net. Hanover were awarded a penalty on 75 and Scotty Dunne stepped up to make it eight. Mark O Brien would round off the scoring for the champions who put in a solid team performance while Eamon Lalor, Lee Maher and Denis Nolan performed well
