Dolmen Celtic 1 - 2 Parkville United

Dolmen Celtic 1

Parkville United 2

Eoin Dempsey struck twice in 10 minutes late on to win the game for Parkville as Dolmen slipped to a fifth consecutive defeat in the league to leave them in a battle against the drop. Parkville started well but were twice denied by the woodwork in a goalless first half. Cian Madden was first up to be denied by the goal frame as his header came back off the crossbar on 25 minutes. Dempsey then saw his shot rebound off the post after been set up by TJ Kavanagh on the half hour. It wasn't all one way traffic and Celtic's Joe Doran dragged his effort wide after been put through on goal by Keelan Lacey as the sides went into the break at 0-0. The second half saw Kavanagh fire wide early on before Dolmen took the lead in bizarre fashion. John Nangle long pass from inside his own half was caught by wind, bounced over the United keeper and into the net just after the hour mark. Tyris O'Rock had a chance to double that lead shortly afterwards but his effort was well saved. With 15 minutes left, Dempsey had Parkville level. Celtic failed to clear a Kavanagh corner and Dempsey pounced on the loose ball to make it 1-1. Parkville piled forward in search of the winner, and it arrived 5 minutes from time, Kavanagh again with the assist as Dempsey slotted his and United's second. The drama didn't finish there however and with time almost up Dolmen won a corner, Keelan Lacey's delivery was perfect and Colin Nolan thought he'd equalised only for the ball to hit the underside of the crossbar, that rebound fell to Joe Doran but his snap shot was saved by Jason Murphy as United held on for the 3 points. Eoin Dempsey, TJ Kavanagh, and Dylan Sheridan impressed for the winners while Colin Nolan, Lorcan Canavan and Ben Doorley were best for Celtic.

Parkville United 7 - 1 Dolmen Celtic
Parkville went third in the table after this rout of Celtic on Sunday morning, not close enough to challenge for the title but confirming their status as the best of the rest. TJ Kavanagh had gone close twice early on before Jack O'Neill opening the scoring on 10 minutes with a sweetly struck effort from 18 yards. Michael Dobosz doubled the lead shortly afterwards; Lee Kavanagh's effort was saved and Dobosz pounced on the rebound. Dolmen got a goal back midway through the half, Paul Connors picked the pocket of a Parkville defender before firing home from 25 yards to leave it 2-1 at the interval. The second half was all one way traffic but it was 20 minutes in before United added to their tally, Jack O'Neill teeing up Michael Dobosz to make it 3-1. Another assist from O'Neill set up Dylan Sheridan to score with a powerful back post header before Cian Doran set up Dobosz to complete his hat trick with 10 minutes left on the clock as he made it 5-1. With Dolmen starting to tire Parkville ran in more goals, Craig Staunton fired home number six from the edge of the area and there was still time for Cian Doran to slot home a debut goal before the final whistle. Impressive for United were Michael Dobosz, Cian Doran and Jack O'Neill while Paul Connors and Owen Gorman battled to the end for Celtic.

Dolmen Celtic v St. Patricks Boys
Prem League 06/03 11:00
Dolmen Celtic 1 - 4 St. Patricks Boys
St Pats almost certainly secured Premier Division football next season and left Dolmen hanging by a thread to their Premier status after this game on Sunday. Dolmen will need at least 4 points from their last 3 games to have a chance of staying up, a big ask with all their matches against the top 3 sides. The visitors began the better of the teams here and were 2 up inside 20 minutes. Chris Gaul opened the scoring with a neat finish and Thomas Murphy doubled the lead moments later with a 20 yard volley. Dolmen regrouped and pulled a goal back on the half hour, Kieran Nolan's header beating Doyle in the Pats goal. Pat's blew a glorious chance to restore their 2 goal advantage before half time when they were awarded a penalty but Jamie Hennessy saved Bobby Doogue's spot kick. Chis Gaul had a couple of chances early in the second half before Celtic cranked up the pressure in their persuit of an equaliser. Joe Doran, Danny Thompson and Keelan Lacey all causing real problems for the Pats backline. Chances came and went for Celtic though and with 10 minutes left they paid a heavy price, Gaul pouncing twice in as many minutes to complete his hat trick and leave Dolmen with an uphill task to avoid the drop. Beast for St Pat's on the day were Chris Gaul, Bobby Doogue, David Brennan and Thomas Murphy.

Dolmen Celtic 3 - 3 Kilree Celtic

Dolmen Celtic 3

Kilree Celtic 3

Chris Blake's goal 5 minutes from time earned Kilree a share of the points as Dolmen twice let slip a two-goal advantage. Dolmen started the better of the sides and after creating early chances for Joe Doran and Simon Doyle they eventually took the lead on the half hour, Simon Doyle teed up Jamie Doorley on the edge of the 18-yard box and Doorley fired his effort into the top corner. That lead was doubled 5 minutes later, Ben Doorley releasing Doran on goal, and he picked his spot in the bottom corner for 2-0. Kilree got themselves back into the game 5 minutes before the break. Alan Mcdonald was fouled in the area and Alan Salter converted the spot kick to leave it 2-1 at the break. Kilree piled on the pressure at the start of the second half, a Gary Dillon header bringing a great save out of Jamie Hennessy in the Dolmen goal. But with nothing to show for their efforts Dolmen hit them on the break to restore the 2-goal advantage, Ben Doorley again the provider, this time for Danny Thompson to score with a half volley to put the 3-1 up with 25 minutes to play. Kilree were never going to lie down though and they were right back in the game with 10 minutes left when Brian O'Rourke headed home Alan Salter's corner. Salter was again involved 5 minutes later when he crossed for Blake to score and leave Dolmen to rue 2 dropped points as they battle to get off the foot of the table. Best for Dolmen included Ben Doorley, Danny Thompson and Jamie Hennessy. Kilree's best were Brian O'Rourke, Stephen Salter and Gary Dillon.

Ballymurphy Celtic 2 - 2 Dolmen Celtic

Ballymurphy Celtic 2

Dolmen Celtic 2

John Nangle's goal 5 minutes from time rescued a point for Dolmen in this relegation battle on Sunday morning. The visitors had first use of the strong breeze and went close through both Danny Thompson and Ben Doorley early on. The opening goal arrived for Dolmen midway through the half, Jamie Doorley heading home Thompson's corner for 1-0. Ballymurphy were back in the game 10 minutes before half time when Mick O'Neill was fouled in the area and Kevin Foley slotted the spot kick to tie things up at the break. With the wind on their backs it was Ballymurphy's turn to apply the pressure in the second half. Jack Foley and Thomas Doyle were proving a handful and Foley fired just wide on the hour. Shortly afterwards it was Jack Foley again causing problems as he hit the crossbar. Eventually Foley got his reward when Jason Cogley picked him out to slot the hosts ahead with 15 left on the clock. Dolmen were never going to give this one up though and with 5 minutes left it was substitute Nagle who popped up unmarked at the back post to tap home the equaliser and give the teams a point a piece in the battle to avoid the drop. Best for Ballymurphy were Dara Tobin, Kevin Foley and Jack Foley. Dolmen had solid showings from Patrick O'Brien, Boni Milangyo and Danny Thompson.

Hanover Harps 5 - 0 Dolmen Celtic
Three goals in the opening 15 minutes did most of the damage for Harps as they eased to the win over neighbours Celtic on Saturday afternoon. Stephen Smyth opened the scoring on 5 minutes, keeping calm in a packed penalty area as he picked his spot in the corner. Barely 4 minutes later Jarno Fischer set up Ryan Brady to slot home from close range to double the lead. Hanover kept pressing and the third arrived before the 15-minute mark, Stephen Smyth using his strength to keep the ball before picking of Fischer on the penalty spot who coolly slotted home for 3-0. In fairness to Dolmen the shored up their defence for the remainder of the half and looked dangerous on the break. The second half again saw Hanover on the front foot and Brandon Kelly fired home number 4 from the edge of the penalty area on 55 minutes. Just after the hour it was Adam McCarron turn to get on the scoresheet, another cracking effort from the edge of the 18-yard box to finish off the scoring. Best for Hanover included Brandon Kelly, Dylan Doyle, Eoghan Byrne and Adam McCarron

Crettyard United v Dolmen Celtic
Prem League 16/01 11:00
Crettyard United 10 - 0 Dolmen Celtic
Lee Salter was again the star of the show for Crettyard as he netted 5 times in a game for the second time this season. Dolmen were in trouble almost from the off as Bobby Dowling headed United in front after just 3 minutes and 3 minutes later another header by Ryan Byrne from a perfect Gearoid Cuddihy cross made it 2-0. Danny Doyle had a goal chalked off for offside before Salter sprung the offside trap to slot home his first and United's third midway through the half. The hosts kept pushing and despite some heroic defending from the visitors Byrne netted his second just after the half hour to send Crettyard into half time 4 goals to the good. There was no let up from United in the second half as they and Salter went on the rampage. Salter added an early brace to complete his hat trick before firing a thunderbolt from 20 yards into the top corner for his fourth to make it 7-0 with still half an hour to play. Salter made it 8-0 with his fifth, the second time in as many games after racking 5 against Kilree in his last outing before the Christmas break. Jack Brady capped a fine performance with a brilliant strike on 75 minutes and Danny Doyle finished off the scoring with 10 minutes left on the clock as United hit double figures to reignite their title hopes and leave Dolmen deep in relegation trouble. Apart from Salter there were stand out performances from Jack Brady and Niall Purcell for the winners.

Dolmen Celtic v Killeshin FC
U19 League 15/01 14:30
Dolmen Celtic 0 - 2 Killeshin FC

A goal in each half saw Killeshin emerge with the three points from Ashgrove on Saturday afternoon. The away side were in fine form early in the game when on 5 minutes a quick throw in saw Aaron Dorgan released down the right side and he crossed to John O'Shea whose effort was narrowly wide of the target. After 12 minutes, Dorgan was involved again. This time a sublime defence splitting pass with the outside of his boot found Scott Roycroft. Roycroft who's run brought him inside the back four beating the offside made no mistake and his effort settled in the bottom right-hand corner of the goal. 0-1 to the away side. Dolmen responded with a free kick some minutes later which was denied by Lee Byrne in the Killeshin goal, the first of many fine saves by Lee on the day. Killeshin continued to threaten and Dorgan and Roycroft were both involved again this time only to be denied by the keeper. The remainder of the half was evenly contested.

In the second half Dolmen started brightly but the away side dug in and frustrated their efforts. Dorgan and Roycroft were a real problem for Dolmen and Roycroft was to go close on two more occasions before he got his second of the day from the penalty spot after Ivan Murphy had been taken down inside the 18 yards. Scott Roycroft made no mistake to double the lead on 49 minutes. Killeshin were reduced to 10 men on the hour but never looked like conceding and held the home side to long range efforts thanks to an outstanding defensive effort from Jake Haughney, Daniel Core and Lee Byrne in the goal. Best for Killeshin were Arron Scully, Conor Harte, Sean McGrath.

Kilree Celtic 3

Dolmen Celtic 2

Dolmen opened and closed the scoring with goals in the first and last 5 minutes but it wasn't enough to get anything from the game as Kilree made it 3 wins on the bounce. The visitors opened the scoring inside 5 minutes when Alex Westbrook in Kealan Lacey who finished neatly for 1-0. Kilree upped their after that setback but half an hour would pass before they eventually got their equaliser, Paul Kehoe reacting quickest to a loose ball in the Dolmen area to make it 1-1. Alan MacDonald and Alan Salter both forced saves from Jamie Hennessy in the Dolmen goal as half time approached but it was all square at the break. Within 2 minutes of the restart, Kehoe crashed a header off the Dolmen crossbar as the hosts went in search of the lead but neither Kilree or Kehoe had to wait long. On 52 minutes Kehoe met Darragh O'Meara's cross with a powerful header that left Hennessy with no chance as Kilree led 2-1. Kilree were on the front foot and goal number 3 arrived with 20 minutes to play, Alan MacDonald heading home from Gary Dillon's free kick. There was no dropping of heads from the visitors this week though and they were back in the game with 5 minutes left when Colin Nolan was left unattended at the back post to head home a free kick. With time running out Dolmen thought they'd snatched a point, another header from Nolan found the net but was chalked off for offside as Kilree held on for the win to reward the efforts of Paul Kehoe, Darragh O'Meara and Gary Dillon. Best for Dolmen on the day included Colin Nolan, Kealan Lacey and Ben Doorley.

Dolmen Celtic 4 - 1 Vale Wanderers

Dolmen Celtic AFC 4 – 1 Vale Wanderers AFC.

On a very cold afternoon, two very good sides were involved in a very hard-fought, as both teams battled hard in the early stages of the game, but it was Dolmen who opened the scoring on twenty minutes, when Brandon Cassidy made a run from outside the box to meet the ball with flicked on header that beat the Vale keeper, in a crowded area.

Vale battled hard and found an equaliser at 1-1 and this was the score at the interval.

In the second-half Dolmen pushed on and put Vale under pressure and they won a corner and Liam Ryan sent in a fine corner kick, which found Boni and he got himself ‘head and shoulders’ above everyone else and headed the ball home from eight yards out to make the score 2 – 1.

After twenty five minutes, Liam Ryan flicked on a header to Isaac Emanuel and he scored easily, to make the score 3-1.

With only ten minutes left to play, Brandon Cassidy set up Ben Coakley, who scored with a fantastic well placed shot from just outside the box and make the fiinal score 4-1 to Dolmen.

Man of the Match was Brandon Cassidy, with his goal, an assist and his relentless work in midfield of 50/50 tackles, in midfield.

Other stand- out performances for Dolmen were Niki Juden, Liam Ryan, and Lee Carpenter, whilst Vale kept battling to the end, but were overwhelmed by Dolmen

Kieran Hennessy helped himself to a hat trick as Killeshin strolled to the points against a Celtic side that barely showed up in the second half. Killeshin showed their intent early and Adam Steed had already stung the hands of Jamie Hennessy in the Celtic goal Niall Scully opened the scoring on 11 minutes after been set up by Dragos Mamalinga. Two minutes later it was 2-0, Michael O'Rourke punished a defensive mix up to double the lead. Dolmen then had their best spell in the game, creating chances for both Andy Brennan and Liam Dempsey but neither could convert and when Hennessy headed his first and Killeshin's third from Steed’s cross before half time the game was as good as over. Seconds into the second half Steed was again the provider as Hennessy made it 4-0 and just after the hour Hennessy completed his hat trick, this time it was Mamalinga with the assist. As Dolmen heads dropped Steed fired in a brace to make it 7-0 before Celtic lost Paul Connors to a red card. Celtic did have a chance to get on the scoreboard when they were awarded a penalty, but Isacc Talent made the save from Andy Brennan to ensure he was keeping a clean sheet. Further scores were added from Julian Strain and Sol Yoro as Killeshin cruised to the win rewarding the efforts of Jake Haughey, Isaac Talent, Liam Seery and Adam Deering. Despite the score line Jamie Hennessy in goal and Lorcan Canavan were best for Celtic.

St Canices 4 - 0 Dolmen Celtic

St Canices 4

Dolmen Celtic 0

A sending off in each half pretty much ended any hopes Celtic had of progressing in the LFA Cup as St Canices ran out easy winners in the second half as Dolmen's 9 men struggled. An even enough first half saw Celtic survive early pressure and thought they'd taken the lead midway through the half when Paul Connors found the net only for the goal to be chalked off for an earlier infringement. St Canices made the most of this let off and broke down field to score just after the half hour. Celtic's task got more difficult when they lost Ben Doorley to a second just before the break.

Dolmen made a couple of changes and started the stronger of the teams in the second half but they lost concentration while defending a corner 15 minutes in and St Canices punished them with a second goal. A second red card for Celtic came shortly afterwards and St Canices ran in 2 more goals near the end as the 9 men of Celtic began to tire. Best for Dolmen on the day were Jamie Doorley and Paul Connors.

Dolmen Celtic 1

Hanover Harps 3

Hanover edged out Celtic in this local derby, scoring early and late to see off the hosts. Harps were quick out of the traps and had created early openings for Eoghan Byrne and Colin Campion before the first goal arrived on 10 minutes. Campion flicking on a corner for Johnny Waters to score from close range. Dolmen grew into the game after that and were deservedly level midway through the half, Ben Dooley's pass setting Joe Daran through on goal and he kept his cool as he rounded the keeper to slot into an empty net. As the half wore on the sides traded missed chances, Keelan Lacy for Celtic and Brandon Kelly for Harps both seeing efforts saved. Just as it looked like it would be level at the break Harps struck for a second time, Campion escaping the attentions of the Celtic rearguard as he slotted into the bottom corner. Celtic pushed men forward in the second half, chances again fall g to Joe Doran and Keelan Lacey. Hanover had chances of their own, Mark Davis saw his effort tipped around the post by Owen Gorman. The game was finally put out of Celtic's reach when Phil Neenan found the net late on with a fine finish to make it 3-1 to Hanover, reward for the efforts of Brandon Kelly, Johnny Waters and Mark Davis. Best for Celtic were Joe Doran, Ben Doorley and Jamie Doorley.
