Hanover Harps v Ballymurphy Celtic
Prem League 17/04 11:00
Hanover Harps 0 - 3 Ballymurphy Celtic
Kevin Foley netted a hat trick as Ballymurphy finished off their league campaign with a win. Hanover started well enough, and Jack Murphy brought a good save from Kyle Foley in the Celtic goal early on. As Celtic grew into the game Jack Foley had their first real sight on goal but with only the keeper to beat, he dragged his shot wide from a tight angle. Harps then missed a great chance to take the lead on the half hour, Brandon Redmond's header was goal bound but the slightest of touches from Paul Foley deflected the ball onto the crossbar and out for a corner. With half time approaching Ballymurphy struck for the opening goal, Dara Tobin teeing up Kevin Foley to fire home from 8 yards. Celtic impressed in the second half but but Jason Cogley twice shot over when well placed. At the other end Hanover had chances for Shane Kelly and Jack Murphy, both efforts saved by Kyle Foley. We 15 minutes left Ballymurphy, and Kevin Foley got their second, Jack Foley with the assist as Foley calmly slotted home after beating the offside trap. With 5 minutes left Foley completed his hat trick, Aaron O'Toole made the hard yards down the left before crossing for Foley to finish off the scoring. Best for Celtic included hat trick man Kevin Foley, Jamie Doyle and Dara Tobin. Best for Hanover on the day were Brandon Redmond, Jack Murphy and Jason Brennan.

Parkville United v Hanover Harps
Prem League 10/04 11:00
Parkville United 10 - 0 Hanover Harps
Nick Nolan bagged 4 goals as United completely overran Harps on Sunday morning. Nolan opened the scoring on 15 minutes as he just beat Hanover keeper Pa Dowling to Joe Sunderland's cross to head home. Sunderland was on the scoresheet himself 10 minutes later as he finished off a fine team move to make it 2-0. With Hanover struggling to get to grips with the game it was soon 3-0, TJ Kavanagh racing through a static Harps back line before finding the net to give Parkville a healthy half time advantage. It got better for United after the restart as 2 goals in 2 minutes put the hosts 5-0 in front. Nick Nolan grabbing his second of the game before Paddy Hickey headed home from a corner. Harps rallied briefly and Johnny Waters headed a Dylan Walsh corner off the crossbar before Dylan Twoig saw his well struck effort saved by Jason Murphy at his near post. But thereafter it was more of the same, substitute Cian Doran scored with his first touch to make it 6-0 before he slotted home his second and Parkville's seventh on 70 minutes. Hanover then lost Johnny Waters to a second yellow and the 10 men conceded 3 more before the end. Nolan netted 2 more to complete his 4 goal haul before Tom Pollard finished off the scoring late on to cap a fine team display for United with the 3 points meaning a third placed finish for the Tullow outfit, their highest in a decade, while Hanover will want to quickly forget a very bad day at the office.

Slaney Rovers v Hanover Harps
Prem League 27/03 11:00
Slaney Rovers 1 - 2 Hanover Harps

A second half brace from Jason Murphy was enough for Hanover to claim the points in Rathvilly on Sunday as Rovers were left to rue a series of missed chances in the opening half hour. The hosts started the better of the teams, Dominic Byrne and Conor O'Brien both dragging efforts wide before the 15-minute mark. A glancing header from Lubohir Lesko also failed to trouble Jason Brennan in the Harps goal before Brandon Ryan forced Brennan into a fine save, the keeper at full stretch to tip his effort onto the crossbar and away to safety. Hanover began to find their feet with Mark Davis and Nicolas Perdriau both getting in behind the Rovers defence but neither could convert as half time arrived goalless. Harps were on the offensive on the restart and within 5 minutes had the opening goal. Mark Davis sent in a corner; Johnny Waters initial effort was blocked down but Jason Murphy was quickest to the loose ball to put Hanover in front. Moments later it was 2-0, another corner, this time from Stephen Scanlon, found Murphy unmarked in the 6-yard box and the big defender made no mistake as he doubled the lead. Harps continued to threaten, and young Spanish forward Nicolas Perdriau was proving a real handful for the Slaney back line. Hanover failed to add to their Talley and had to endure a nervy finale when Rovers were awarded a penalty on 85 minutes following a foul on Dominic Byrne, Peter Kehoe firing the spot kick past Brennan to leave it 2-1 at the final whistle.

Best for Hanover were Dylan Walsh, Aaron Kinsella, Mark Davis and Nicolas Perdriau.

Hanover Harps v St. Patricks Boys
u19 cup 19/03 14:30
Hanover Harps 1 - 4 St. Patricks Boys

A 4-1 win away to Hanover, was not the result many would have seen coming, except those who were present to see this game. Hanover picked this game to put in their poorest performance of the season, but that should not take away from St Pat's victory. The best team on the day won. Harps struggled to get into the game and were disjointed all over the field. Pat's took the lead when, following a corner, Pat's John Hayes unmarked, powered a header to the net. Half time couldn't come quick enough for Harps and with minutes to go Pat's doubled their lead when a total lapse of concentration let Cian Kelly in to head past Jason Brennan and tap into the net. A change of shape and set up in the second half saw Harps come back into the game and they reduced the lead when a Brandon Kelly free was headed to his own net by Pat's centre half. Harps had opportunities to level the game but couldn't get the ball over the line.

Pat's regained their 2 goal lead when a mix up in defence let them in to score and it was rounded off with a penalty minute's from the end, scored by Kian Kelly. Pat's by far the better team and thoroughly deserved their win.

Hanover Harps v Killeshin FC
U17 cup 05/03 14:30
Hanover Harps 1 - 1 Killeshin FC
Killeshin set themselves up for a chance of winning the league and cup double after they came out the right side of the penalty shoot out on Saturday. Both teams struggled to produce the kind of football they had played all season on a bobbly pitch and with several first teamers missing. It was a very even contest and when the final whistle went the penalty lottery could have gone either way with Killeshin’s Gaffney making the only save. Both sides started well with Killeshin playing down the pitch on a sunny day in the plots. It was Killeshin in the 15th minute who scored first with a quick corner from Killian Barry which rebounded of the post which fell to Tommy Hutton who finished well. Both sides kept attacking with Hanover coming close. It was Hanover who started better in the second half with a equaliser from Scott Dunne from a great cross. Both sides kept pushing but the game was heading for extra time. Both sides gave it everything, but nobody could get a goal with Hanover going so close with a free kick in the last minute and game headed to penalties. Michael Gaffney saved the second penalty which Tobi Salmon and finished a great penalty for which Killeshin won. Best players for Killeshin were Tommy Hutton, Killian Barry and Kyle Holden. Best for Hanover were Mark O’ Brien and Alex Clifford.

Hanover Harps 1

St Patrick's Boys 2

St Pat's picked up a huge win in their battle to avoid relegation as David Brennan's goal 15 minutes from time earned them the points and lifts them out of the bottom two. The heavy overnight rain saw the game switched to St Pat's and that helped them to settle. In an ultimately goalless first half both sides found clear sight of goal hard to come by. Hanover's Dylan Walsh forced a save from the Pats keeper as he hit a volley from distance after a corner was only half cleared. At the other end Jason Brennan was rarely troubled as Pats were also limited to shots from outside box and the sides went into the break at 0-0. The second half was 15 minutes in when Hanover took the lead, some excellent play down the left between Dylan Walsh and Pauric Coughlan saw Coughlan find Murt Bambrick on the edge of the area, Bambrick controlled the ball brilliantly before he rifled his shot into the roof of the net. Hanover only held their advantage for 8 minutes, Bobby Doogue's cross from the right found Chris Gaul, his shot was was goal bound but Brennan rushed in to make sure it hit the net. Doogue and Brennan were again involved in the winner on 75 minutes. A half-cleared corner fell to Doogue outside the box, he didn't connect cleanly with the ball but it fell nicely to Brennan 6 yards out and his neat back heal left Jason Brennan in the Harps goal with no chance. Hanover pushed forward late on and chances fell to Darragh Breen, Mark Davis and Stephen Chalton but none could convert and Pats held on for a vital 3 points thanks largely to the efforts of Tomas Murphy, Anto Lawlor and Tobi Jimoh. Best for Harps included Dylan Doyle, Dylan Walsh, Stephen Chalton and Murt Bamberick.

Hanover Harps v Kilree Celtic
Prem League 06/02 11:00
Hanover Harps 0 - 1 Kilree Celtic

Hanover Harps 0

Kilree Celtic 1

A second half goal from Peter Abbey was enough to settle this game as Kilree reversed the result between the teams from last week when Harps won 2-1. As with the week before, it was a good open game with chances coming at both ends. Aan MacDonald shot narrowly wide for Celtic early on and As Abbey shot over midway through the half. At the other end Eoghan Byrne and Mark Davis were proving a real handful for the visitors defence, with Byrne hitting the post from a tight angle but it stayed goalless into the break. The second half was more of the same as chances came and went at both ends. KMark MacDonald brought a good save from Harps net minder Stevie Scanlon just before the hour. Hanover went close shortly afterwards when Harry Lloyd flicked a corner onto the crossbar and the Kilree defence blocked out the follow up from Johnny Waters. The deadlock was finally broken 12 minutes from time, a hashed clearance fell to Peter Abbey and he made no mistake as he slotted home what proved to be the winner. Harps did have the ball in the net late on but Stephen Chalton's effort was chalked off for an earlier infringement. Best for the winners on the day were Peter Abbey, Mark MacDonald and Victor Watkins. Hanover's best included Harry Lloyd, Aaron Kinsella and Mark Davis.

Prem League 30/01 11:00
Kilree Celtic 1 - 2 Hanover Harps
Martin Bamberick's goal 15 minutes from time decided the outcome of this tie but only the width of the post cost Celtic a point late on. In a very open first half chances came at both ends; Celtic's Peter Abbey fired narrowly wide after been set up by Chris Blake. The game turned Harps way on the half hour when firstly Hanover keeper Steven Scanlon produced a fine save from an Alan MacDonald header before Harps went down field and won a corner. Dylan Walsh delivered the dead ball and Johnny Waters powered home a header from 6 yards to put the visitors 1-0 up. Kilree pushed for an equaliser as half time approached but Jason Murphy and Harry Lloyd defended brilliantly to keep them at bay. The second half saw Kilree push on and they got a deserved score on 65 minutes. Hanover only half cleared a corner and the loose ball fell to Chris Blake out on the right, Blake in turn finding Alan Salter to score from close range to make it 1-1. Ten minutes later Hanover were back in front, Dylan Walsh again the provider as his pass opened the Kilree back line for Martin Bamberick to run through on goal, Bamberick keeping his cool as he nearly lobbed the advancing keeper. The goalmouth action wasn't done there, with a couple of minutes left on the clock Kikree's Paul Kehoe struck a sweet first-time effort from the edge of the box, Scanlon was beaten in the Harps goal but Kehoe and Kilree agonised as the ball struck the post and rebounded to safety for Harps to claim the win. Best for the winners were Steven Scanlon, Harry Lloyd, Eoghan Byrne and Mikee Horohan. Kikree's best included Darragh O'Meara, Peter Abbey and Paul Kehoe.

Crettyard United v Hanover Harps
Prem League 23/01 11:00
Crettyard United 3 - 1 Hanover Harps
Crettyard made it 4 league wins on the bounce to go third in the table as their title bid gains momentum. They had to work hard for these points tho as Harps took an early lead and defended well before United eventually got their goals. There was barely 2 minutes gone when the visitors hit the front, Aaron Kinsella finding the net to open the scoring. United pressed hard for an equaliser but solid defending and good goalkeeping from Steven Scanlon kept them at bay. The pressure eventually yielded a penalty just after the half hour, Bobby Dowling scoring at the second attempt after Scanlon saved the spot kick but was powerless to stop the rebound. Colin Campion for Hanover and Jack Brady for United traded missed chances as the sides went into the break at 1-1. Crettyard came out after the break in determined fashion but the first good chance of the half fell to Campion after Johnny Waters released him, Campion got past Bobby Dowling but his shot from the edge of the area whizzed past the post. Thereafter it was all Crettyard pressure, Scanlon pulling off a superb double save to deny Danny Doyle and Lee Salter. Another Scanlon save denied Colin Osborne as the 'keeper tipped his effort onto the post and Harry Lloyd cleared the rebound. The pressure had to tell and with 15 minutes left United got themselves in front. Ryan Byrne picked out an unmarked Lee Salter at the back post and Salter made no mistake as he slotted past Scanlon. Hanover tried to press for an equaliser but it was United that had the final word, Gearoid Cuddihy firing left footed from the edge of the area on 85 minutes to wrap it up for the winners. Best for United were Jack Brady, Danny Doyle and Niall Purcell. Hanover's best included goalkeeper Steven Scanlon, Harry Lloyd, Phil Neenan and Johnny Waters

Hanover Harps v Dolmen Celtic
U19 League 29/01 14:30
Hanover Harps 5 - 0 Dolmen Celtic
Three goals in the opening 15 minutes did most of the damage for Harps as they eased to the win over neighbours Celtic on Saturday afternoon. Stephen Smyth opened the scoring on 5 minutes, keeping calm in a packed penalty area as he picked his spot in the corner. Barely 4 minutes later Jarno Fischer set up Ryan Brady to slot home from close range to double the lead. Hanover kept pressing and the third arrived before the 15-minute mark, Stephen Smyth using his strength to keep the ball before picking of Fischer on the penalty spot who coolly slotted home for 3-0. In fairness to Dolmen the shored up their defence for the remainder of the half and looked dangerous on the break. The second half again saw Hanover on the front foot and Brandon Kelly fired home number 4 from the edge of the penalty area on 55 minutes. Just after the hour it was Adam McCarron turn to get on the scoresheet, another cracking effort from the edge of the 18-yard box to finish off the scoring. Burrin Celtic v Hanover Harps
U17 League 29/01 14:30
Burrin Celtic 2 - 2 Hanover Harps
The top two played out a very good draw on Saturday setting up a final day showdown where all three teams can still win the league. Killeshin’s win in Nurney means Burrin have to go to Killeshin and get a win to force a playoff with Hanover while Killeshin need just a win and the trophy is theirs, should they draw then it will be a playoff with Hanover and Killeshin as this league gets the exciting finish it deserved. It was a very tight first half which went from end to end with maximum effort from both teams. There was very little chances with Burrin’s Dylan O’ Reilly coming the closest to breaking the deadlock when his shot from the edge of the box smashed the crossbar and came down on the line. The half ended 0-0. Hanover started the second half fast and took the lead threw Scott Dunne from the penalty spot. Burrin pushed and got a great equaliser when Frankie Fitzgerald made a great run and smashed home an unstoppable shot from a very tight angle given the keeper no chance. Hanover once again pushed and went ahead threw a long-range effort from the halfway line threw Scott Dooley. Burrin knew a defeat would mean their title chances were gone and so went all out attack pushing bodies forward and with time running out Burrin got an equaliser in the 89th minute when captain and leader Dylan McCann smashed home from a Dylan O’ Reilly corner to take the title in the last game of the season. Best for Hanover was the entire team who put in a huge effort and the same can be said for Burrin.

U19 League 15/01 14:30
Hanover Harps 3 - 1 St. Patricks Boys
Hanover claimed the points in their first game after the Christmas break thanks to a brace from Jack Murphy and an Eoghan Byrne strike. Harps squandered a series of chances in the opening 15 minutes, Jarno Fischer fired over from 12 yards, Byrne saw his volley from 6 yards somehow saved by the keeper and another Fischer effort was well saved as the hosts went in search of the opening goal. On 20 minutes Hanover broke the deadlock, Adam McCarron's pinpoint free kick finding Byrne at the back post to score from close range. 10 minutes later the lead was doubled, brilliant play down the left between Brandon Kelly and Ryan Brady saw Brady cross for the inrushing Jack Murphy, his volley from 10 yards giving the keeper no chance. Hanover kept pressing and Mikee Horohan will know how he headed wide from 3 yards on the stroke of half time as another chance came went. Pats were better in the opening 15 minutes of the second half but couldn't pick out their runners from a series of long balls over the top of the Hanover back line and just after the hour Harps struck for a third time to wrap up the points. Murphy again on target as he cut in off the left wing before firing low across the keeper into the bottom corner. The post denied Murphy his hat trick on 75 minutes before the visitors got a late consolation through Kieran Nolan as he reacted quickest to a loose ball at the back post to leave it 3-1 at the end. Best for Hanover were Kyle Foley, Dylan Doyle, Brandon Kelly, and Ryan Brady.
