Hanover Harps 1
St Patrick's Boys 2
St Pat's picked up a huge win in their battle to avoid relegation as David Brennan's goal 15 minutes from time earned them the points and lifts them out of the bottom two. The heavy overnight rain saw the game switched to St Pat's and that helped them to settle. In an ultimately goalless first half both sides found clear sight of goal hard to come by. Hanover's Dylan Walsh forced a save from the Pats keeper as he hit a volley from distance after a corner was only half cleared. At the other end Jason Brennan was rarely troubled as Pats were also limited to shots from outside box and the sides went into the break at 0-0. The second half was 15 minutes in when Hanover took the lead, some excellent play down the left between Dylan Walsh and Pauric Coughlan saw Coughlan find Murt Bambrick on the edge of the area, Bambrick controlled the ball brilliantly before he rifled his shot into the roof of the net. Hanover only held their advantage for 8 minutes, Bobby Doogue's cross from the right found Chris Gaul, his shot was was goal bound but Brennan rushed in to make sure it hit the net. Doogue and Brennan were again involved in the winner on 75 minutes. A half-cleared corner fell to Doogue outside the box, he didn't connect cleanly with the ball but it fell nicely to Brennan 6 yards out and his neat back heal left Jason Brennan in the Harps goal with no chance. Hanover pushed forward late on and chances fell to Darragh Breen, Mark Davis and Stephen Chalton but none could convert and Pats held on for a vital 3 points thanks largely to the efforts of Tomas Murphy, Anto Lawlor and Tobi Jimoh. Best for Harps included Dylan Doyle, Dylan Walsh, Stephen Chalton and Murt Bamberick.
