St Joseph's FC v Burrin Celtic
26/04 19:00
St Joseph's FC 1 - 7 Burrin Celtic

St. Joseph’s FC 1

Burrin Celtic 7

Burrin started with the aid of a strong wind in the first half and used the weather to their advantage as they ran riot.

They scored first on ten minutes when Conor Dooley volleyed in from a corner. They dominated the rest of the half with further scores from Ross Nolan and a hat trick from Martin Byrne. Joeys tried hard with the wind in the second half but were restricted to long efforts by the Burrin defence. They did pull one back on the hour mark through Dave Hackett, but this seemed to spur on Burrin to score to more goals though Pawel Furtak and a fourth for Martin Byrne.

Chris Bailey, Brendan Butler and Martin Byrne stood out in good team performance for Burrin Celtic. Colm Ward and Mario combined well done the right while Joe Curran battled hard in midfield.

20/04 17:00
Killeshin FC 4 - 0 St Joseph's FC

Killeshin AFC 4

St Joseph’s 0

Both teams started the game well and were evenly matched as they both created some good chances, but as the half wore on, it was Killeshin who upped the tempo and just before the interval Shane Coakley scored a quick-fire brace and Brian Lawlor followed those up, with a good header to send Killeshin into the break 3-0 up.

The second-half was a much more even affair, but in the dying stages Killeshin added a fourth goal, through Paddy McDonald and that how it ended – 4-0 to Killeshin.

Best for Joey’s were Brian Burn and Colm Ward, whilst standing out for Killeshin were Ciaran Walsh, Shane Coakley and Bryan Lawlor.
