Slaney Rovers 1

New Oak with the strong wind at their backs in the first-half let 3-0 at the break.

Slaney’s best move of the game came after the interval when Peter Kehoe broke down the left and his pass found Declan Brennan in space and he teed the ball perfectly for Mark Ryan to shoot home just inside the box for 4-1 on 60 minutes. Late in the game another threaded pass from Peter Kehoe put Brennan in behind the Boys defence and Declan calmly fired home passed the advancing keeper.

Eddie Byrne, James Doyle and Alan Ryan played well for Slaney.

New Oak Boys v Ballymurphy Celtic
Premier Division 21/04 11:00
New Oak Boys 4 - 0 Ballymurphy Celtic

New Oak Boys 4

Ballymurphy Celtic 0

New Oak assured themselves of at least a play off for the title as they won their final league game to move three points clear of Crettyard who play their final match on Wednesday evening.

Celtic started well in this match and MJ Doran was denied the opening goal by a last-ditch tackle. After that the half belonged to the hosts, who were twice denied by the woodwork before Dean Kelly’s run on goal was halted at the expense of a penalty which Kelly coolly slotted to give the Boys a 1-0 half time lead.

If New Oak were made to wait most of the first half for the opening goal, they had no such worries in the second, barely 60 seconds had passed when Jordan Harmon’s cross was powerfully headed home by Greg Sykula. Ten minutes later Harmon was again the provider, this time Will Kinsella benefiting from a perfect delivery to make it 3-0. With Celtic struggling to keep pace with the movement of the hosts it was soon 4-0, Sykula adding his second of the game and fifteenth of the season as Harmon completed a hat trick of assists to finish off the scoring.

Best for New Oak were Dean Kelly, Jordan Harmon and Chris Birmingham. Ballymurphy’s best included Paul Foley, MJ Doran and Jamie Doyle.

Tombrack United 0

New Oak Boys 3

New Oak took a 0-1 lead after only fifteen minutes after Seamus Doran finished a defence-splitting ball delivered by Will Kinsella.

New Oak went on to double their lead on twenty-five minutes, when Shane Fitzharris beat the Tombrack off-side trap, rounded the keeper and slotted home for 0-2 and this was the score at the interval.

New Oak sealed the victory through Will Kinsella who picked up the ball on halfway and drove at the Tombrack defence, leaving a number of players in his wake and he then fired in a thunderbolt of a shot into the net from thirty yards, leaving all present, in awe of his strike.

Best for New Oak were David O’Regan, Alan Smith, David Walker and Will Kinsella for his wonder strike, whilst it was a battling performance from Tombrack.
