New Oak Boys 4 - 3 Killeshin FC

New Oak Boys 4

Killeshin FC 3

Peter Fagan pounced ten minutes from time to see New Oak through to the last eight.

Fagan had earlier got the show on the road as he put the hosts ahead after just five minutes with a neat finish and as Killeshin struggled to get into the game it was soon 2-0, Will Hayes crossed to find the head of Michael Dobosz and he made no mistake as he doubled the lead on eight minutes. Killeshin to their credit never dropped their heads and were rewarded on the half hour when Jake Nolan profited from some hesitation in the Boys rear guard to make it 2-1 but that joy was shot lived as Jamie Farrell's 25-yard drive found the net to restore New Oak's two goal lead at the break.

The second half saw Killeshin apply some serious pressure on New Oak back line and they pulled a goal back through Danny Brennan on 65 minutes before Declan Bolton struck to level matters eight minutes later. This stung New Oak back into action and with ten minutes left Fagan struck the winner from a Dobosz cross to put the hosts through.

Best for New Oak were Cian Maddock, Michael Dobosz, Peter Fagan and Jamie Farrell. Killeshin’s best included Danny Brennan, Declan Bolton and Jake Nolan.
