25/11 11:00
Ballymurphy Celtic 1 - 2 Crettyard United

Ballymurphy Celtic 1

Crettyard 2

Crettyard travelled to Ballymurphy for a hard earned three points today. Crettyard started out on a stronger note with great link play between midfield and strikers. This paid off on the 15th min when great linkup play from Patrice Whelan and Chloe Ryan found Demi Donovan to put Crettyard one up on 15 minutes. Ballymurphy however didn't gave up and battled hard until the half.

Crettyard came out in the second half and dominated from the start. The second goal came on the 47th minute when Deirdre O'Shea crossed in a corner and found Aisling Behan who made no mistake from close range. Crettyard appeared to be in a comfortable position until a defensive error allowed Ballymurphy back into proceedings late on but Crettyard held on for a deserved three points with Alanna Waters, Claire Kelly and Marie Meagher excelling.

Crettyard claimed all three points on a sunny day in Killeen.

The first half had no real scoring opportunities until Alanna Waters crossed the ball from the left wing and Aisling Behan got on the end of it to put Crettyard 1-0 up after 20 minutes. On the 60 minutes Demi Donovan was taken down in the area and Patrice Whelan made no mistake to convert the spot kick. Five minutes later Maria Meagher scored a cracker for Crettyard’s third goal.

Izzy Humphries had St Fiacc’s best chance when she hit the crossbar in the second half. Two more goals from Aisling Behan sealed the win for Crettyard after some good midfield play. Crettyard United v Burrin Celtic
24/11 14:30
Crettyard United 2 - 0 Burrin Celtic

Crettyard Utd 2

Burrin Celtic 0

This match started at a frantic pace, with both teams playing some great passing football and defences were really strong and robust, with some excellent tackling on show, particularly from Burrin’s Adam Nolan.

Whilst there were some chances created at either end, they were at a premium, as both defences were working well as units, to keep the opposition attackers, scoreless and the interval came with a 0-0 scoreline.

Crettyard started the second-half, the better, with some really, crisp passing, which opened up Burrin, but they just couldn’t capitalise on their domination, with some wayward shooting.

On 65 minutes, a rare Burrin attack was broken up and Crettyard attacked with real pace and conviction and the move was finished off by Ian Shannon with a fine shot, for a 1-0 lead for Crettyard.

Burrin kept trying for an equaliser, but were caught out yet again, when another fine passing move was finished off by Scott Brady doubled their score to 2-0.

Burrin never gave up the fight and they tried hard, for the remainder of the match, but unfortunately, it just wasn’t going to be their day and it finished 2-0 to Crettyard.

Best for Crettyard were Luke Phillips, Luke Ramsbottom and Scott Brady, whilst best for Burrin were Dan Smyth, Scott Tracy and Cormac Kinsella.
