St. Patricks Boys B 3 - 1 Parkville United

Parkville had the ball in the net no fewer than 5 times in this game but in the end only 1 goal counted as Pats B ran out winners. On 4 minutes Nick Nolan had the ball in the back of the net but the goal was ruled out for offside. Joe Sunderland went close on 10 minutes before Jack O'Neill saw his effort wide on 17 minutes. On 25 minutes, Nick Nolan again had the ball in the net, but his effort was ruled offside. Soon after Tom Pollard was put through with an excellent Jamie Walsh ball, but he was pulled back for offside. Parkville finally made the breakthrough when Jack O'Neill scored from outside the box with a long-range effort to the top corner to leave it 0-1to the visitors at half time. The second half continued in the same vein with Parkville constantly attacking. On 60 minutes, Nick Nolan again had the ball in the net and his effort was ruled out for offside. Soon after St Pats were awarded a corner after a breakaway attack and scored from their first effort on target. The following 10 minutes saw Parkville play sluggishly and when a pass was misplaced in midfield, Pats intercepted and played a nice through ball for the striker who scored 2-1 with 20 minutes to go.

For the remainder of the game Parkville laid siege to the Pats goal with Joe Sunderland forcing a good save from the keeper before Jack O'Neill shot from distance and Jamie Farrell saw his effort saved. On 88 mins Parkville were awarded a corner following excellent work by Barry Flynn. Tommy Murphy provided the delivery for Paddy Hickey to drive home the equaliser only for the ref to give a free out. To add insult to injury, with Parkville totally committed in attack, Pats broke away and went up the other end and scored a 3rd. A disappointing day for Parkville who can feel unlucky at having 4 goals disallowed but credit to Pats who were more clinical in front of goal.
