On a frosty night in the meadows this parish derby was played out under the lights. The home side got off to a dream start when Jamie Malone got his head on a corner kick putting Pats 1-0 up. 5 minutes later and they doubled their lead when Brian McDermott scored another header. The home side were very comfortable for the remainder of the first half and the game stayed 2-0 at half time.
The second half took a while to come to life but Levan deSilva put Pats 3-0 up and result never looked in doubt after this. Levan scored his second goal 5 minutes later and set John O Neill up for Pats 5th goal with a lovely corner.
Pats will be disappointed to have conceded towards the end when James Brennan’s headed effort flew past the pats keeper but Craig Doyle wasn’t troubled in the Pats goal otherwise and the game finished 5-1 to St Pats which sees them right back in the title race. It was a solid team performance from St Pats while James Brennan, Gavin Deering and Micky McCartney never gave up for Killeshin.
