New Oak reeled off another impressive win in their persuit of the title to go 3 points clear of Parkville at the top. Killeshin are a good side but 2 losses in December left their title ambitions hanging by a thread, but they started well here, hitting the opening goal after just 9 minutes, Michael O'Rourke heading home from a Julian Strain corner. New Oak were level 10 minutes later, Jordan Harmon won a free kick on the right and Dean Kelly's inch perfect delivery from the dead ball found David Doyle to make it 1-1. Killeshin's Kieran Hennessy had a chance to restore the lead for the visitors but his effort was well saved. On the half a thunderbolt from James McGrath found the roof of the net to give The Boys a 2-1 lead after the Killeshin defence failed to deal with Harmon cross. The second half saw New Oak dominate and on 58 minutes they stretched their lead, Harmon released Conor Byrne down the right wing and Byrne's cross was headed home by Lee Walker for 3-1. A near post header from Walker 7 minutes later made it 4-1 as Killeshin just couldn't keep pace with a rampant New Oak. The visitors best chances were coming from set pieces but neither O'Rourke or Hennessy could convert when the chances were presented and it was New Oak that would wrap up the scoring with 5 minutes left on the clock, debutant Jamie Murphy saw his effort well saved but Dean Kelly was on hand to knock in the rebound to leave it 5-1 at the end. Impressing for New Oak were James McGrath, Dean Kelly, Lee Walker and Jordan Harmon. Killeshin's best included Aaron Donnolly, Niall Scully and John Fleming.
