Ballymurphy Celtic 1
Parkville United 2
Parkville maintained their impressive start to the league with a third win on the bounce but they had to do it the hard way in Ballymurphy as Celtic led 1-0 at half time. Parkville made the early running, Dylan Sheridan seeing a couple of headers from Tommy Murphy crosses saved by Kyle Foley. Nick Nolan had the ball in the net for Parkville midway through the half but that was ruled marginally offside. Celtic grew more and more into the game and on the stroke of half time they opened the scoring, Lauren Scully supplied the pass for Declan Brennan to glide in behind the United back line and Brennan kept his cool as he slotted home to give Celtic the lead. The second half saw United apply all the pressure and it took barely 10 minutes for it to pay off, Mike Dobosz winning back possession before releasing Nick Nolan on goal to make it 1-1. Dobosz saw another effort chalked off for offside as Parkville pushed for a lead goal and it duly arrived 20 minutes from time, Dobosz again the provider as Nolan netted his and United's second to deservedly put the hosts ahead. Celtic tried to respond with Luke Roache squaring for Declan Brennan but there was too much pace on the cross as it went across the face of goal and away to safety. A thunderous drive from United's Jamie Walsh brought the save of the game from Foley as United looked to extend the lead but it mattered little as Parkville held on to claim the points and keep their 100% record in tact, rewarding the play of Nick Nolan, Jamie Walsh and Mike Dobosz. Best on the day for Celtic were Kyle Foley, Declan Brennan and Michael O'Grady.
