Rovers got back to winning ways with a comfortable victory over Killeshin in Timahoe.
After a dominant start for the Rovers, the visitors very nearly took the lead against the run of play. A long-ranged effort from the Killeshin winger was met by an excellent fingertip save onto the crossbar by Conor Hanley in the Rovers goal. From then on, chances were few and far between for the Killeshin men as Rovers began to get on top finding joy through the wings. The score remained level at half time but Rovers fortune was to change in the second half.
Just before the hour mark, after patient play, Rovers finally hit the back of the net through Alex Renehan as he tapped in from close range. Rovers lead was quickly doubled after Colin Buggy riffled the ball into the top corner from a long range free. Two more goals were added in quick succession through Mick Keogh, the Rovers front man. The first came in the form of a penalty, won by himself, and was neatly tucked away and the second came moments later after Buggy played Keogh in behind the Killeshin defence and he made no mistake.
Best for Killeshin were Danny Brennan, Jack Phelan, Cathal Dooley.
