Burrin Celtic 3
Round Tower Rovers 1
The first half was evenly matched with both sides having chances.
Burrin went one up with 25 minutes gone through a long effort from Jonathan Lalor that put off the keeper and defence for the away side. A few minutes later, Michael O’Leary had a great chance outside the box and spotted the keeper off his line by trying a long range shot over the keeper’s head but just going over the bar. Round Tower Rovers then started to trouble the home side and their goal came from some good play with Craig Doyle making two great saves but the third shot was the one that counted. Rovers equalised just before half time when Alex Renehan pounced on a ball in the box and riffled it into the bottom corner.
The second half was very even until 75 minutes when Burrin got their lead from an O’Leary cross which John Kinsella got on the end of it and slid in to make it 2-1. Burrin applied the pressure and got the third with a well taken goal from Liam McGuill. A hard-fought game that Burrin just edged.
