St Pats B 5 5 Crettyard United
The writing was on the wall for this game after 4 minutes the score was 1 – 1. An og for Pats saw them take the lead briefly until Crettyard scored 2 minutes later from a great through ball from Willie Kavanagh to Gearoid Cuddihy who put it away. It was end to end stuff that followed when on 25 minutes Crettyard scored their second when Cormac Murphy finished off a great move when he was put through by Peter Grogan. Pats got back into the game when they were rewarded for some good play with a great goal by Levan de Silva just before half time.
The second half started just as lively as the first with Pats getting first blood again through a lovely goal from James Esser. Things got better for Pats when they went 4-2 up after Levan de Silva won and scored a penalty. Crettyard management made some moves, and they began to grow more into the game. Peter Grogan made a fine run down the wing, who crossed for Lee Salter to tap home. The game was well and truly on now and it was end to end by both sides, Crettyard equalized with the goal of the game after great cross from Jonah Kelly found the head of Lee Salter again. A mistake by Pats defense allowed Willie Kavanagh to score to give Crettyard a 4-5 lead with 15 minutes left. St Pats dug deep in the last few minutes and were rewarded for their efforts when Ricky Lawler scored a last-minute goal to bring the game to and even 5-5. This thriller of a game ended 5-5. Best for Pats Levan de Silva, Jamie Malone, and Ricky Lawler while Crettyard had Jonah Kelly, Willie Kavanagh, Jamie Conway as standouts.
