Castle Rangers 1

The score doesn't reflect the full story of this game as Rangers would go on to rue a host of missed chances. Castle had the first two chances of the game with Tommy Kerrigan twice being denied by the pat's keeper. St Pats started to get into the game more as it went on and on 20 minutes, Castle’s goalkeeper clashed with Thomas Sheehan in the box to bring him down for a penalty. Sheehan picked himself up to easily convert to give pats a 1-0 lead. Castle almost immediately equalised when Mazin O Meara let one fly from 30 yards only to be denied by the crossbar. The teams went in with Pats leading one nil at the break.

The second half began with pats piling on the pressure and Sheehan turned provider for Lord Afrifa to tap home and send pats on their way. Dean Kelly popped up and crossed for an easy tap in for Sheehan again to make it 3 nil. Castle fought hard and were rewarded a penalty which Majid Hussein duly dispatched to make the game 3-1. Stephen Preston almost reduced the deficit to a single goal only for his header to come back off the post. Pats didn't panic and kept playing nice football. Dinny Farrell came off the bench to make it 4-1 with 3 goals in his last 2 games. The game was finished off when Jake Nolan went in 1v1 with the keeper and he slotted it home with ease to give pats all 3 points. Best for pats were Thomas Sheehan, Dean Kelly and Dean Malone while best for Castle Rangers were Tommy kerrigan, Majid Hussein and Stephen Preston.
