Kilree started the better and in the 9th minute Alan salter hit the post with a shot when he had the keeper beaten. Fortbarrington took the lead on the 14th minute with a well taken goal from Cian Byrne. Kilree scored on 27 minutes when Darragh O’ Meara passed the ball through to Alan Salter who put the ball past the keeper to make it one all. Alan McDonald set up Darragh O Meara and he took the ball past two defenders to beat the keeper and score to make it 1-2 to Kilree on 28 minutes. Paul Kehoe made the keeper work with a shot just before half time and the keeper done well to knock it over the crossbar. Kilree had a good chance to make it three one in the 58th minute when Alan McDonald had a header off the crossbar and Alan mac Donald made the keeper work again with two fine efforts on 76 and 80 minutes but the keeper made two great saves to keep him out. A determined Kilree kept going and in the 85th minute Paul Kehoe made a solo run and he scored past the keeper to make 3 - 1 Best for Kilree were Mick Murphy, Paul Kehoe, and Stephen Crowe. Best for Fortbarrington were Jack Nolan, Cian Byrne and Rikki Kay.
