Parkville United 0
Mill Celtic 4
Mill Celtic produced their best display of the season to easily overcome Parkville in Tullow on Sunday.
The home side started well and TJ Kavanagh put Brian Byrne through on goal but the Mill keeper made a fine save. The visitors settled and opened the scoring on 15 minutes when Daniel Mackey put in Euan Cullen who rounded the keeper and slotted home. At the other end Sean Maher and Brian Byrne combined to set up David Orbinski but his effort was turned around the post for a corner. Celtic were more clinical when Fionn O’Rourke found Eoin O’Neill and he doubled their lead before the break.
Parkville started the second half the better with Matt Decaux dominating midfield. Brian Byrne and David Orbinski forced a couple of good saves from impressive Mill keeper Harry Kirwan. The Kildare side made the game save on 58 minutes when Eoin O’Neill raced onto a through ball from Brian Malone and chipped the onrushing Parkville goalkeeper. TJ Kavanagh saw his well struck shot just wide on 70 minutes and as they pushed on Mill capitalised on the counter and Malone scored his second to seal victory.
Best for Mill on the day were Aaron Dunne, Eoin O’Neill and Fionn O’Rourke. Hard working for Parkville were Henry Hegarty, Matt Decaux and Michael Brown.
