Castle Rangers 0
Kilree Celtic 4
Kilree maintained their 100 per cent start to the season with this away win against Rangers in the Youth Centre on Sunday.
The visitors started the better and Alan McDonald found Peter Abbey whose shot rattled the crossbar in the third minute. Two minutes later Alan Salter was unlucky as his shot hit the post. The Bagenalstown side took a deserved lead when Gary Dillon set up Alan McDonald to score on eight minutes. They continued to dominate and good work by Paul Kehoe and David McDonald was finished to the net by the latter to round off a great team goal to leave his side 2-0 at the break.
Castle started the second half in a more determined mood and a great save by John Gladney in the Celtic goal denied them reducing the deficit. Kilree began to get back on top and Peter Abbey and Alan McDonald combined to set up Gary Dillon to score at the back post on 63 minutes. Eamonn Nolan set up Alan McDonald to score his second on 74 minutes to make it 4-0. Kilree rang the changes then and only for some good saves by John Gladney kept the Carlow town side at bay.
It was an all-round good performance by the winners with Alan Mc Donald, Stephen Salter and Gary Dillon stand out players.
