Kilree march on in their pursuit of promotion to the Premier Division with this away win in Baltinglass on Sunday.
The home side started well but it was the visitors who took the lead when Eamon Nolan scored on 15 minutes following a through ball by Gary Dillon. Balto were unlucky not to equalise but Adam Martin was wide of the mark. The Bagenalstown side doubled their lead on 29 minutes when Alan MacDonald chipped the keeper and it remained 2-0 at the break.
The home side tried hard to get back into the game with Robbie Ryan and Adam Martin going close. Kilree kept up the pressure and Mark MacDonald set up Alan MacDonald to score his second to make it 3-0 on 56 minutes. Celtic took their foot off the gas after this. The home side were finally rewarded for their efforts when they scored from the penalty spot on 83 minutes.
Outstanding for the winners were Stephan Salter, Alan MacDonald and Victor Watkins. Best for Baltinglass were Robbie Ryan, Paul Redmond and Dylan Hosey.
