St. Patrick’s Boys 0
New Oak Boys 6
The defending champions had no such issues to worry about as they cruised to victory over a new look St. Pat’s, expanding their unbeaten streak in the league to 20.
The score line doesn’t necessarily reflect the game as Pat’s played well in patches but failed to convert their chances. Jordan Harmon’s free kick put the visitors ahead from a free outside the box. Andy Wall broke from a Lee Murphy ball four minutes later to easily beat Danny Moran in goal and leave New Oak two up. The home side couldn't break down the strong back line from New Oak and soon found themselves three goals behind going into the break.
Wall’s effort was hit perfectly to find Keighley who hit from outside the box at a wide angle to find the back of the net. Pat’s started best after the break but were wasteful and it took New Oak six minutes after the break to make it four as Harmon fed Wall through on goal after Pat’s gave away possession. Dean Kelly made it five as he broke into the box, picked up a ball from Daryl Coleman and slotted home after some defensive errors from the hosts. Pat’s kept fighting but with five minutes to go, Brian Mullen added a sixth.
