St Patrick’s Boys 2
St Joseph’s AFC 1
St Pat’s were the victors in this very even match, where both teams tried to play football, but initially, both sides were guilty of missing chances, in the early part of the game.
However, on thirty minutes a fine cross from St Pat’s Paddy Regan found the head of Tom Mitchell and he made no mistake, as he thumped it home for 1-0. Joey’s drew level on forty minutes from a Kian Dooley corner that Aongus O’Se scored from for 1-1. However, there was still time before the interval for St Pat’s to be awarded a penalty for a handball and up stepped Luke Hutton to confidently, put the ball and take a 2-1 interval lead.
The second half was end to end but both sides nullified each other with some great defending and that coupled with some excellent goalkeeping by both keepers, meant that that there was no further score and it ended in a deserved 2-1 to St Pat’s Boys.
Standing out for St Pat’s were Luke Hutton, Paddy Regan and Aaron Cullen, with Dawid Pawlowicz, their man of the match, whilst best for St Joseph’s were Aongus O’Se, Kenneth Bello and Daniel Hegarty.
