St Joseph’s AFC 2
Parkville United 7
This game was played in terrible conditions that made it difficult to play good football – it was all more of a slog, although both sides served up an entertaining first-half.
Joey’s took an early 1-0 lead, through Pauric Kenny which they held until thirty-five minutes, when Parkville levelled for 1-1 and shortly afterwards, they scored again to make it 1-2. Joey’s fought back and were soon on level terms, when Kian Reddy set up Daniel Donegan who calmly scored for 2-2 and that was the score at the interval.
Two quick goals at the start of the second-half, saw Parkville take full control of the game and these goals ‘knocked the belief’ out of Joey’s, as Parkville took absolute control and scored three more goals, before the end to run out 2-7 winners.
It was a great team performance from Parkville, whilst best for Joey’s were Jordan O’Brien, Eoin Tynan and Craig Doyle.
